INTERACTIVE HEALTH COACHING

Health coaching from an interactive holistic point of view provides the avenue to explore how all areas of life are connected and impact our overall health and wellbeing.  For example lack of sleep, stress, or frustrations can lead to over-eating, lack of energy, less productive decisions.  As a health coach I explore the concepts of primary foods, secondary foods, and bio-individuality with clients.

Primary foods consist of the non-edible areas of our lives that should be balanced, satisfying, nourishing, and fulfilling.  Areas such as consistent regular physical activity, healthy relationships, and addressing spiritual needs nourish our minds, emotions, body, and spirit.  After all, we are more than just flesh and blood!

Secondary foods consist of the actual items we eat and the fluids we drink.  Junk food, and processed food provide little to no energy and may rob our bodies of the ability to maintain balance and wellness which can open the door for imbalance and disease over long-term use.  Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, and water provide the nutrients, energy, minerals, and hydration for strengthening, building, repairing, and maintaining our body’s vitality and immune function.

Just as each fingerprint is unique and one of a kind; so is each individual.  Bio-individuality attests to the fact that each individual is unique, with different likes and dislikes, food preferences, and lifestyle needs.  The old adage that “One person’s food maybe another person’s poison,” definitely rings true.  Fad diets come and go, and may provide only temporary success.  Introduction of healthier foods and helping you determine what foods are healthiest for you will provide more nutritional bang for your bucks.  In addition, healthier foods and drinks assist by augmenting our body’s ability to heal and repair itself.
